Start with the problem you want to solve. More memory and faster storage improve different parts of a computer’s day-to-day use.
Choose RAM for a busy workload
RAM holds the information your computer is actively using. If your usual applications exhaust the available memory, adding compatible RAM can make switching between tasks smoother. It does not add space for saved files.
Choose an SSD for storage
An SSD stores your operating system, applications and files. Replacing a hard drive with a compatible SSD can improve startup and loading times. A larger SSD provides more room; upgrading an already fast SSD may make less difference to everyday use.
Check before you buy
Find your exact computer or motherboard model. Check supported memory generation, capacity and slots; DDR4 and DDR5 are not interchangeable. For storage, confirm the connection, physical size and supported drive type. Back up your files before replacing a drive.
