The TP-Link RP108GE uses reverse PoE to bring power into a network switch from compatible injectors at connected locations. This supports installations where a convenient local mains socket is unavailable, while its eight Gigabit ports carry wired network traffic.
Power and management
- Seven passive PoE input ports and one passive PoE output on port 8.
- 10/100/1000Mbps auto-negotiation on all eight RJ45 ports.
- 24V or 48V passive PoE input; all inputs must use the same voltage.
- PoE output voltage follows the input voltage.
- Selectable 5V or 12V DC output for compatible equipment.
- Web and utility management, VLAN support, QoS, port mirroring and loop prevention.
Plan the power connections
Use passive PoE equipment with the correct voltage and pinout: pins 4/5 positive and 7/8 negative. Match the total load to the unit’s power limits, and set the DC output voltage before connection. The DC connector is an output for powering another device. The fanless metal enclosure suits desktop or wall mounting.
